What started out in the 1960s as a mushroom farm has today literally grown into a unique nursery for vegetable sprouts: Van der Plas Sprouts.

As a trend-setting producer of 'Natural Sprouts' Van der Plas has in recent years developed many new types that have been received with enthusiasm. In 2008 Van der Plas also introduced twelve organic sprouts onto the market with the ECO quality symbol under the 'Organic Sprouts' label.

Rapid production, high quality and a short line to customers
All sprouts at Van der Plas are cultivated in a hydroculture. This takes place in heated, air-conditioned rooms. Sprouting occurs so quickly that the produce can be freshly harvested 1 to 2 times per day. The germinated sprouts are washed, dried, cooled and packaged, and then delivered to the customer.

In 1999, Van der Plas took up new premises in Broek op Langedijk, which in 2005 was expanded to an area of 8000 m2 by the purchase of the adjoining premises. The company now employs around 100 staff for the entire production process.
